We went out this morning, the water incredibly calm after the winds we had for the past few days and boy was the sheepshead bite on! We jigged with live shrimp (3/8 oz. jig head) and could hardly keep them off the hook and even got several on the fly using crab fly patterns.
For fly fishing, I recommend throwing on a small split shot or using a crab with heavier beads to keep the fly down along the bottom. Let the fly sit as long as you can (trust me, it will be torture) and then give it a quick twitch and let it sit again (yes, as long as you can handle it). Repeat this and you're bound to get a bite as long as you're in the right spot!
